Imaginarymediaimages studio are offering to produce a free fine art print of your imaginary artwork.

We are interested in how imaginary you really are, in creating your ideas for production as a fine art print. We are not interested in reproducing an existing artwork (as a printed reproduction of the physical object, such as a pre-existing painting) but to offer you the opportunity to have your imaginative idea produced as a quality printed image on artist quality paper.

We are offering 1 printed image (on Hahnemuhle German Etching Paper (310gsm), an archival standard paper) to 5 individual successful applicants, 1 from each category.

To allow us to offer this opportunity we are asking for a $10 application fee per entry.

We will be selecting the 5 successful images based on the following visual categories:

  • Best interpretation of imaginary works relating to 3D represented in a 2D format, i.e. as printed on paper
  • Merging trends – physical and digital world
  • Science and technology
  • Being human
  • Obsessive collections

The 5 successful works will feature on the IMI website until the end of 2015.

Some entries will feature on the IMI website during the period of the ‘How Imaginary Are You?’ project. IMI reserve the right to reject works of an offensive or controversial nature.

The selected final artworks will be printed to a maximum of 1030mm, on the long edge, depending on the format of the original artwork to finished print size.

We will post the printed artwork to the 5 selected artists.

IMI are not selling these works or printing them for sale. We will forward any interest in the works directly back to the artist. However, should you wish to use our service we will of course be very happy to work with you.

For initial selection we ask that your images be no more than 2MB and send as a jpeg or png file. Successful images will later be required at full resolution - 360 dpi. Suggestion: make your image full size [360 dpi or greater] then save a copy to a reduced resolution, to fit the 2MB email requirement for your entry.

  • Entry is open to all countries and all ages [consent from a guardian is required if the entrant is under 18].
  • Each artwork must be submitted individually with its own entry form.
  • There is no limit to the number if entries that a person may submit.
  • Artwork must be submitted as requested i.e. no more than 2MB, as a jpeg or png file, for the initial entry and at least 360 dpi if selected.
  • You must agree that the copyright belongs to you and that the artwork is original.
  • Successful artworks will be sent via mail in a tube. The works will not be replaced if arrived damaged, as IMI will be sending all works carefully wrapped and with due care.
  • We will showcase some entries on our website with acknowledgement to the artist.
  • The 5 successful works will feature on the IMI website until the end of 2015.
  • $10 application fee is non-refundable.
  • Closing date for receipt of entries: Midnight on 30th June 2015 Australian Eastern Standard Time.
  • You agree to IMI terms and conditions.

We will not publish or divulge your contact details to any third party, only your name will be used in the acknowledgement of your artwork. See our Privacy Statement in our Policies.
